Cantona A Sort of Smile

Reviewed June 8, 2005

Female lead vocalist Les' has a sultry and powerful voice that pulls you in to each song. Cantona also features Erik on bass, Glenn on guitars, and Shawn on drums, all each contributing backing vocals at times. Together they make this band a strong, cohesive force that takes most musicians years to perfect. With well written lyrics and impressively constructed tracks it's hard to find anything not to like.

Rocker sheik, soft Pop-core with a splash of cocktail lounge jazz … It's a sound hard to nail down to one genre as it transforms with each song but it will keep you happy dancing and humming along.

Tastily produced by Jon Auer of Posies and Big Star fame, this is a refreshingly original six songs long EP you'll be recommending to friends.
