The Evergreen Effect

Reviewed: 02.07.07

Acoustically driven, funky, vintage rock" is how The Evergreen Effect like to describe their sound. Imagine putting there cd in and driving down a highway with the sun shining and not a care in the world that’s the feeling you get when you listen to the track "Something Better." The vocals are reminiscent of a jazz , folk, and blues singer and are comparative to bands on the radio already. Musically they are doing a lot of things right with the lyrics blending perfectly. The music is very soothing and relaxing with melody that will have you singing along. Their songs will take you through a story of hardship or life with catchy lyrics and folksy instruments like harmonicas and tambourines. The Evergreen Effect are in touch with Washington and feel that people from the state are more understanding of the music they make.

Guitarist/Vocalist/Harmonica player Chase Ruebel's writes most of the songs and lyrics. Stan Howell plays bass and provides backup vocals with Sean Crouter playing drums and helping with vocals.

The band has been playing within the vicinity of Seattle since early 2006, and are making plans to soon expand their range down to Oregon and into Idaho as well. Their official mascot, a smiling tree, serves as a symbol of peace. They are on there way to recording a full length album by this summer. The Evergreen Effect are very compassionate and motivated to make music that is pleasing to the ear and bring a smile to your face.
